Shashthi (17 October): Keep It Light
Shashthi is the warm-up. The goddess is unveiled in the evening with Bodhon, pandals open their gates, and a lot of people are still finishing work before the long weekend kicks in. You want something that looks like Pujo but still feels like a normal day to walk around in.
A Batik print saree is a great fit here. Batik is made by drawing patterns in wax and then dyeing the cloth, which gives it those fine crackle lines you cannot fake with a machine print.
